Top rated travel attractions Bali? Constructed in 1634 by the kind of Mengwi dynasty so as to honor his ancestors, the Pura Taman Ayun, translated to Beautiful Garden is an ancient temple located in Mengwi, Bali. The gateway of the Temple is beautifully ornamented and leads to a beautiful fountain that sprouts water through its nine jets. These nine jets represent the nine gods in the Hindu Pantheon. There is an old world charm to this place like it belongs to a time of past and perhaps that is the reason why visitors flock here throughout the whole year. More than a thousand years old, Pura Besakih is known as the Mother Temple for a reason: It’s the holiest Hindu temple complex in Bali – and the biggest. Set in a spectacular location on the southern slopes of Mount Agung, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, Pura Besakih is actually a series of many different temples, which serve as the spiritual center for the Balinese people. Pura Penataran Agung is the largest. Lush rice paddies and forests ring this temple complex, and many important festivals take place here; you might be lucky enough to see one during your visit. Plan to spend about three hours touring the temples. It’s also a good idea to wear comfortable walking shoes – you’ll need to walk a fair distance and climb many stairs. Insider’s Tip: Locals trying to sell sarongs, incense, guiding services, and various other items bombard visitors at the gates here, but your ticket includes everything that you’ll need during your visit. The best time to visit Pura Besakih is early in the morning before the tourist buses arrive.

A beautiful seaside village/fishing town of Bali, Jimbaran offers tranquil beaches which are perfect for sunbathing. There aren’t any waves here (at least when I visited) so it was perfect for swimming too. Buleleng is the area in north Bali that is home to some of the best waterfalls in Bali (which you can read all about here). The capital of the area Singaraja is a great base for some unique airbnbs (I can suggest sunset sala for the most epic accommodation among rice paddies).

This sacred active volcano lies in Kintamani District in Bali’s central highlands, about an hour’s drive from Ubud. The hike, along well-marked trails, is relatively easy and usually takes about two to three hours. Guided treks typically include a picnic breakfast, with eggs cooked by the steam from the active volcano. On a clear day, the views are spectacular, stretching all the way across the Batur caldera; the surrounding mountain range; and beautiful Lake Batur, the island’s main source of irrigation water. Sturdy hiking shoes are essential, and it’s advisable to wear layers, as the temperature can be cool before sunrise. You can also combine a trip here with a visit to one of Bali’s most important temples, Pura Ulun Danu Batur, on the lake’s northwest shore, and a therapeutic soak in hot springs at the beautiful village of Toya Bungkah on the banks of Lake Batur.

Bali’s beaches are a beauty on the surface but there’s more than meets the eye with them. You can go underwater as well to see a world beyond anything ever seen before. To start off this thrilling adventure you can begin from Tulamben and its shipwreck remains, and end at Pemuteran, which has the largest bio rock reef of all. Bali has something for everyone and it is suitable for all levels and kinds of divers. It’s advisable to go diving during the dry months. One place which just can’t be missed is the Nusa Penida Island with all its beauty. Things to do: Enjoy Surfing, Visit the bio rocks, see shipwreck remains, take photographs and more.
